This poem brought back memories of all the childhood pets we had. I think that the pain of losing some burned a hole too big and I've never had a pet since.
How sad. I've a little old, old doggie who's on her last legs. So sad to watch them go. I like the part about the dog hairs. I like it because I know it's a paradox. I get so upset about dog hairs all the time. I breath them in, they cling to the furniture, but really, when little Copper goes and her hairs remain, I know I will love them. Check out Leo Durrant's "La Llorona". There are some similar ideas. Take care. --Charlie
