I can't help a quickly penned political statement. Shortly after it was announced that Mr. Obama won the Nobel, the DNC and the RNC both issued their obligatory statements. Neither side showed a bit of class. The Republicans spent their statement telling the world why the president did not deserve the prize and the Democrats spent their statement calling the Republicans terrorists. If it were not for the inequitable distribution of wealth in this country, there would be no class at all… at least among our leaders.
SO HERE WE ARE THREE YEARS LATER AND I AM SO GLAD THAT WE ARE NOW ONCE AGAIN STABLE FINANCIALLY WITH THE DOW GOING UP AND DOWN...AS IT SHOULD. I LOVE THE HEALTH CARE REFORM PACKAGE AND THE FACT THAT OUR BOYS ARE COMING HOME. I DON'T CONDONE KILLING BUT I AM GLAD WE NO LONGER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE 'INSTIGATOR' OF THAT TERRIBLE TERRORIST ATTACK ON THE USA. THINGS ARE BETTER FOR OUR VETS BUT NOT PERFECT AND I KEEP PRAYING ABOUT THIS AND OTHER THINGS. WE ARE NOT A PERFECT NATION, BUT I BELIEVE, GIVEN OUR PRESENT CIRCUMSTANCES AND THE WAY POLITICS ARE RUN ON THE HILL, OUR PRESIDENT IS DOING HIS BEST TO FULFILL HIS PROMISES. AND SO I AM TAKING THE OPPORTUNITY AT THIS TIME TO SAY, CONGRATULATIONS, MR. PRESIDENT! THANKS FOR SHARING, LORI, WELL DONE. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...

Obama is a lightning rod because he is educated, honest, and sincere about helping America , once again, help the world. The Nobel committee saw what you and I saw, and it's refreshing .
All I want to know is, why? What has he done to foster peace? Seems we're more divided than united, any more ... sad. Well said, Lori, it's ridiculous, giving an award on what might be done (but probably won't be).
WE NEED MORE THAN 'LIP SERVICE' FROM ALL OUR POLITICIANS!

When I awoke Friday morning, I became convinced that I really was living in an Orwellian double-think world. This is the guy who promised to reduce troops in Iraq and replaced them with private mercenaries, expanded the war in Afghanistan and now into Pakistan, stood idly by as demonstrators were unmercifully assaulted at the G-20 meeting in Pittsburgh using the latest state-of-the-art military LRAD weapons, and is now threatening Iran over its nuclear-energy program. Why not? Start yet another war. It's good for the economy, right? War is peace as Orwell said. Now I get it. Lovely poem.
;-) I still have hope. I too want his vision to unfold. If the so called poor would pray more I do believe we will advance more.
Only God has the plan-this is His world. Most Nobel Peace Prize winners were honored prior to the event unfolding.

But that is all the president has, mere words. This is the richest nation in the world. somehow that is a bad thing. Our poor people (I am among them) are living longer, have medical care when they need it (charity hospital where I go) and yet people such as yourself complain about the inequitable distribution of wealth. Do not think for one minute that that same inequitable distribution of wealth will still be there when this country has finally, and foolishly converted to outright communism. Nero is fiddlin'.
Great job, Lori....I am so tired of him talking the talk, it is high time he starts walking the walk...and I don't mean barking out orders like a dictator, telling people that he knows what is good for us and then jamming it down our throat, either. He needs to remember that we are a government of, by and for the people.
