Fall’s Face Summer’s sizzle Is slowly fading. The sunlight’s slant Is heading south. Days dim, and Grow gradually shorter. Cool nights chill The chirping crickets. Plants and trees sigh – Seeking rest. Leaves make Magical color changes. Bears bulk up To sleep soundly. Geese gather To go southward. Fall’s face Finds the flora and fauna Sleepy and sated – From the rush and bounty Of the summer gone. 2008 © Dawn L. Huffaker All Rights Reserved.
