This is a poem that appears in the 2013 Nature through Poetry calendar. It is a cold and snowy day in January for the Nursery.
Nursery
Plants withdraw
Within themselves
When growing time
Has come and gone.
Their future rests on
Tiny seeds or offshoots
Nestled ’neath this
New fallen snow.
Dark and safe
Is their winter home,
As the wait excitedly for
New adventures ahead.
Nature’s nursery
Brings young ones
To a gentle halt
For a well-deserved nap.
