The Universal Warrior

Once again, with heart of steel, I stand here;

On the timeless ground I will forever hold dear.

And to keep the demon, known well, from this place;

I risk the always, crushing blows of his iron mace.

With my friends about me, tall and straight;

I raise the trusted weapon toward Valhalla's gate.

As its strength and power are firmly in hand;

The demon, I know, shall not have this land.

I fear not death on this battle day;

As I've felt his touch at Hastings, Stalingrad, and Hue.

But hope I have, that we will not bend;

And night will see the demon's threat at end.

A year from now, or five, or ten;

You will find me here, of course, once again.

For as long as kings and princes wish to war;

I say with certain knowledge, they will need me evermore.
