I hate traffic lights.

Hell froze over on Saturday Jackie Big Jugs was correct Heat wave broke just as she claimed I should be more circumspect We went outside and did not melt A pleasing change of pace Off to lunch at the Elephant Bar In my pickup we did race I have serious red light karma No, not like Amsterdam My stoplights are all crimson Mostly enforced by a photocam Patience may be a virtue But it’s not really one of mine Eileen sits and shakes her head As I grouse at the lights and whine What idiot sets their timing Doesn’t matter if it’s day or night One car or a hundred I get every damn red light All alone in the intersection Held hostage by a traffic machine Eileen doesn’t have this problem Her light karma is always green So I guess there is my answer Let her drive and get some chuckles But then my light karma would change to white To match the color of my knuckles Copyright 2010 Patrick Granfors

Red lights are for districts. And they seem to always be in the district I'm in. Since I've learned I always get the red, I've tried to use those waits to do some deep breathing exercises. I've learned a lot from red lights.

The same idiot sets the timing here on the Treasure Coast of Florida and I live out in the burgs.... not in one of those big crowded areas. But, a word of advice, watch those wise cracks about my friend's driving. I hear she still has some tricks in her "get even bag." This one was fun to read Patrick.... Thanks Dick.

When riding with the little woman, be sure to wear a helmut and flak jacket, it does help...and you lost your hot spell & we seemed to have found it...high 90s the rest of this week...maybe our last killer heat wave...one can only hope...Ed
