Inspiring, Patrick! To come away from it all with a picture like this is worth a thousand words and something of creation you don't get to see everyday. You're the kind of person appreciative of what he sees through the viewfinder and takes it a creative step further. Good poem!

Man, I would love to see that in person...never have seen a whale for real...they don't seem to come around the Jersey shoreline...we get alot of dolphins just off the beach, but never seen a whale...you are a lucky man...ed

Tis truly amazing, how a being so large, raise itself out of it's element, like an explosive orgasm, and then gently glide nether to depths unfathomable, at least to us ordinary folk, I feel such kinship, I wonder why, ha. Have you ever read this book, " The Swarm,
by "Schaetzling" ? if you had, you might have thought twice, showing this behemoth, the underside of your tiny dingy. Your Haiku is writing above the waves though, and sailing with the wind at its back, can you imagine if that whale let wind, you being so close?

Beautifully stated, my friend. Whale watching is a beautiful, almost
God like endeavor. And, "The wind at your back" is really great if one is on a bicycle, as I quite often am.

danced with whales back in college; but that's another story. anyway, i love the serenity and tranquility in this piece, a vocal arena capture of wind and salt and sea knitted together with a humble, philosophical breeze, refreshing and stimulating, puts the mind at ease.

This is a wonderful, inspiring side to you and your work, Patrick.
These thoughts will be germinating in my mind for some time.
They are such beautiful and inspiring musical creatures, whales. One of my biggest dreams is to someday swim with a dolphin. I have wanted to do that since I was a little girl.
