Many have died in the recent Mogadishu war between Ethiopian troops and Somali militia. Dead bodies are decaying in unknown places within the city. In a better late than never job, they are being collected with the help of Somali Red crescent Society, though the politicians are still busy with the way they would share power to obtain a high political portfolio in the country's administration. The smoke billowed for days
It spiraled up in the dark sky
Then died in the dry winds
The embers glowed for days
They smoldered unhurriedly
Then died away in the ashes
Then came the horrible stink
Hanging around quite awfully
As dead bodies littered all over
Who killed the innocent people
Is not a question worth asking
It is just a waste of time!
Over the decomposing cadavers
They speak of victory and power
But not of buring the corpses
Rotting at their backyard
What a pain!
Outstanding story-poem on the reality of our indifference.
I salute You, Poet.
