Al HATES this pair of woodpeckers that constantly peck in our backyard. If he could 'bend' their beaks, he would.

Poem Artwork

Someone bent my pecker
or else this tree is hard.
Why is durable wood
growing out in this yard?
If they think I'm packing,
their brains are full of lard!

I can't get a wee treat
until my pecker heals.
Starvation is pending
as but fresh bugs appeal.
To be scrawny is wrong;
I'm eating out! Your bills!

My pecker is crooked;
no hole will satisfy.
Even when young, my wings
failed to 'catch'on the fly'.
Go put on your sneakers
and catch my meals ... do try!

A shy red-headed pecker,
I will eat from your hand,
feast on creepy creatures
which give me strength to stand.
I loved 'knocking' on wood!
You've ruint our neighborhood!

i can understand al's sentiments about those pesky woodies, but i happen to enjoy them; i have always enjoyed listening to them peck away! funny write, and hilarious picture! thanks for sharing; enjoyed~
