Laughter is medicine and I'm spreading it around for good measure as it's flew season :)!
*******************
Pappy gave me a chicken.
I taught her how to fetch.
Chick thinks she’s a hunting dog
so I have named her Fletch.
She’s a bird dog
but she lays an egg now and then.
You should see her cape and hat;
she’s a real detective
and a sucker for the fool
(with me she’s protective).
She’s a bird dog
but she lays an egg now and then.
Her bark’s as weird as her bite,
(loves hunting ev’ry night)
strips off her clothes and mingles
with the ducks. What a sight!
She’s a bird dog
but she lays an egg now and then.
She’s learned to keel and sometimes begs.
You should see her tail wag!
She’s not too fond of dog food--
the nuggets make her gag.
She’s a bird dog
but she lays an egg now and then.
Her pups are all quite puzzled--
they bark before they peck.
When they lift their leg to scratch,
their feathers look like heck
but they’re bird dogs
who will lay an egg now and then.

On the paper route there was this guinea hen that always came out to the van and clucked more or less like a took, took sound. The dog was up on the porch and did not bother to bark. But that hen did and ran back satisfied that it had run me off. Funny write here.

LOL I loved this wonderful humorous poem, Sandy. I have a chicken that doesn't cluck but makes a weird sound, "wha hah" and had a duck years ago that thought it was a dog and liked to play fetch too. You're such a great friend and thanks for the laughs this morning :)
Sandy, We had a pet raccoon one time that thought it was dog..that was interesting to watch too.
But a chicken? Yeah I could see where that might confuse the poor chicks..
Thanks for the smiles!
