The art accompanying the poem features a blue elephant in a red dress
******************
Never send red roses
to a blue lady;
it will never do …
especially from you.
Never send mink stables
to a blue lady
who’s yearning for you …
only you will do.
Never send diamond, jewels,
to a blue lady.
Love isn’t for sale;
you know that quite well.
Take her a dozen roses,
speak from your heart … love flows.
She is your misses,
great her with kisses.
Never send silk bouquets
to a blue lady.
It will never do …
especially form you.
Never send a token
to a blue lady.
She’ll throw them at you!
That’s what she will do.
Never send red roses
to a blue lady
who’s yearning for you …
only you will do.
