I finally decided on a proper title for this poem. Formerly, "A Tale".
~ Irish Castles ~
Forbidden words written, by candle light’s fire.
Pen dipped into passion’s, unrelenting desire.
Raced through the night, horse’s nostril’s aflare,
Dead be the man, who carries it there.
A parchment of paper, folded with care,
Enclosed, a lace hankie, a slip of red hair.
Two distant castles, two anxious hearts pound.
Beating as fast, as four hoofs, beating ground.
So anxiously waiting, to hold the sweet lace,
Only moments ago, she touched to her face.
Embracing the thought, of her freedom, in time.
To dance in this castle, with me…to be mine.
Super gift for me this morning...finding your poem and all. I LOVE Ireland and it's one of my greatest passions after visiting there. This picture is also of the Dingle Penninsuela ...another of my favorite spots. On www.Fieldandforest.com you can see my photographs of Dingle and the poems I wrote while there.
You did every iota of respect to Ireland and the romance of it's fine people. Much appreciated visual this morning. Thank you,
