A wanderer it begins, a wanderer it stays, freedom is sought, never be enslaved, look through my eyes spread your wings and fly... ~Lily of Lough Neagh!

Poem Artwork

Thru murk and mire and bogs I’ve tread
unto the open fields
cascading dress doth touch the ground
where sun doth cast its zeal

Mornings breeze unto your soul
where you and world doth touch
There is a way within it all
to free yourself once clutched

Sweet bird is trapped within a cage
now you must set her free
open the door and watch her fly
soars high so she can breathe

Her wings she spreads unto the world
her song she gives to thee
Her colors vibrant rainbow shed
casts love harmonically

Shelter naught sweet bird of world
for she’s loved in many forms
emerging past to mornings dawn
her image has conformed

Into her eyes through ancient times
a remembrance being forged
spellbound you’re found within her soul
with landscapes now that merge

Touch her wings with kisses sweet
bruise not her feathered soul
Go in flight like pods to reap
love’s harmonic band of gold

A beautiful poem about breaking free. I'm only wondering about the line, “where son does cast its zeal.” son?

Love can never be cached, it will wither and lose its value.
Set it free and it will grow more beautiful than ever before and accompany you for the rest of your life.

"bruise not her feathered soul"

Ah yes, that is the heart and soul of this beauty of a poem, Carol. Freedom means free from hurt as well as free to be who we truly are. Once again you have given your readers something real to grasp in the wonderful and colorful poetry that you so excel in.
