When the water bubble trembled
All the forces of winter assembled
With frosted lids they stand guard
To dress the traveller in ice shard
Layer by layer, inch by precious inch
The round film froze with every pinch
Frost dressed the globe in tiny flakes
Producing a miracle for heaven sakes
Winter-made porcelain on fine display
Twinkling, not trembling, there to stay
Glistening brightly in cold light of sun
Wondrous beauty comparable to none.
Have never thought of ice as porcelain. To me, it resembles quartz or glass. And, glassed with the special built-in lubricant that makes it very slippery--water.

Nice short, but indepth write about the cold winter's hooray. I agree, to be blanketed with snow, or even frost is a wondrous sight to behold. For my part, however I have had all of that beauty I need. I love the mid-forty degrees down here in South Louisiana. Beautiful write.
