Storm Cometh…
Off the Pacific it does approach,
Towards the cliff where Rufuz and I are in our coach,
Wind right now, the trees they are buckling,
Dark clouds and rain just out off the coast…
The ocean is in a fury,
Smashing itself on the seaweed encrusted rocks,
Surfers have been banned from the beach,
As have been the general public, they must stay out of reach,
Of the oceans tentacles, they stretch beyond the sandy shore,
Like that of an octopus, hungry for man meat, for sure…
We sit in our cocoon of safety, unafraid of the coming onslaught,
We are 500 feet above the sea, on a cliff overlooking what we sought,
That of the sea at its finest, the ocean in a swirl, the Pacific teaching,
Those unaware of its power, fear of a tornado’s world…
Passing over us, the storm it does scream,
Like that of a speeding locomotive on a tight corner it seems,
The sound therein is deafening,
I cannot even hear that of the constant ringing,
In my ears from the tumultuous roar of the waves on the shore…
We will, as we always do, survive this blast of Nature at her worst,
But not without casualties, my antenna, my spot light, lost to the world,
Can’t even find a piece, to show what I had,
That being the price I pay for viewing,
The ocean, Mother Nature & storms as they are ruining…
