Cougars in California,

Bears in Chicago,

Mustangs in my driveway,

Hippopotamus in my kitchen,

Animals, they have to live; they have no say,

Peaceful though they are, they cannot go away…

Raccoons ransacking & rummaging through trash cans,

Giraffe looking in windows on second floors,

Pigs roaming the streets chasing little kids, or are they wild boars?

Dogs and cats no longer the home pet anymore…

Pythons slithering across the highways and byways of America’s urban sprawl,

Families of bison & buffalo shopping at local stores located in the mall,

Share our space we must, as the animal was here first, no more killing, no more mauls…

Quite a fantastical view, perhaps,

Never will happen or so man believes,

But with man stealing just like thieves,

Animal’s natural habitat, just to sit and watch the leaves,

Animals have no place to go, they just can’t up and leave…

When you want to build that house out in the boonies,

Be sure you check with your neighbors first,

No not the human kind, for they are the least of your worries,

Don’t take or encroach on an animal’s space,

As you may find you bit off more than you can chew,

But the animal will love to chew on who else but you…
