Every so often I have to get back to my roots, a Nature poem for a change...hope you enjoy it!

Nature’s Tears…

It’s not the hurricane I do fear,

It’s not the rain and the wind; let me make that clear,

What I fear the very most is that poor old mom Nature,

Is crying her eyes out, all this rain, her tears…

She cries for the way man does ruin Nature,

She cries for the way man has stripped her natural world,

Laying bare her fields, her wooded forests,

And building homes that encroach on the very borders of her pristine beaches…

Let me try, says she, let me try to wash them all away,

This hurricane it would be her way,

To end mans reign over the powers that she has coveted,

To try and destroy some of man’s technology,

Mom Nature fighting back,

Trying to take from man that which has come from his head,

Trying in a non-violent way to take from man his head,

The same thing done to her for a thousand years prior,

If you don’t believe me, just look around, Mom Nature is no liar…

using a hurrican as a symbol for nature's sadness and fury over man's technological nature is quite interesting ...

Well said, indeed. We humans are an arrogant species! Gaia's revenge will surely come. Well crafted, resonate verse. Many thanks, Ed, for expressing these feelings...

How can a Man of SPLAT, an organization bent on the destruction of many of Mother Nature's children, write such a powerful ode to Mother Nature? She cares for her insect children, too.

Dear Ed,

I couldn't agree more with you, it is sad indeed to see what "clever" deeds mankind thinks he is achieving !! A very honest and profound write.
