Merry Christmas, I think...?

Poem Artwork

A Seasonal Lament…

Christmas lights all twisted and tied,

So many balls all broken and died,

Silver stranded garland stuck to the box,

The stress of this season will make me see the doc’s…

Wreaths won’t tie to anything to hang,

Christmas season this year starting with a bang,

My fake tree given up to the squirrels,

I need a new tree, someone give me a referral…

Rufuz won’t wear his antlers, darn,

Sinders our horse won’t stay in his barn,

Rene did ask what I wanted this year,

All I want for Christmas is my “two fwont teef”,

Although I would also if I could, ask for world peace…

‘Tis only one day, what’s all the excitement?

Shopping does for me present a great deal of torment,

I avoid the malls the rest of the year,

I cannot stand the crowds I do so lament,

I felt the need herein and I hope you don’t mind, to vent,

Just think that after Christmas with all your money spent,

You will have due your bills, and the most important, your rent…

Sounds like a lament to me. Have to be at least in majority agreement with you.

I never spend beyond my means. Bills come first :-) Yea I can be practical. Never do I have a bill to pay connected with Christmas afterwards. This year I am seeing the Christmas rush from the other side.........So far not so bad, just very tiring as there is no quiet times and I am told it will get a lot worst next week. I had one customer reach over and give my butt a smack...........Dirty old man! LOL. Give a toy to a small child that has nothing then Christmas will feel more real to you again as you see his/her eyes lit up :-)

I could really do without the shopping part, Ed. I am so glad to have the internet, it saves me from having to go out to buy gifts as much...plus, they ship the gifts directly to the recipient...how very cool is that??????
Take care,
Sherry

Sigh... I love everything about Christmas, it's true meaning, the family stuff, watching faces excited when they look inside the boxes... and lutefisk and lefse. YUM... It's all about what's in your heart, Eddie M... to me it's incredibly joyful! katy xox.

How true of Christmas the only people that I buy for now are children as my husband and I gave each other our Christmas presents earlier. New Dell's but you are right about the monthly rent or mortgage being paid.

i've decided to turn my bank account over to the grandkids and let them give me back anything left on the 25th...it amounts to about the same thing...i spend until 10pm on the 24th or until i go broke, whichever comes first.

Oops! Found a typo. It's supposed to be "two fwont teef."

Maybe if you stick hotdogs on the antlers, Rufuz will wear them.

HO HO HO, My Friend! My cats love to knock down our tree, and my little mutt Blanca chewed her cute little elf outfit to shreds; but Turbo does love his fake antlers. Want me to ask him to have a little talk with Rufuz?
