On My Perch…

A bird I have always wanted to be,

Perhaps in my last life that was me,

They do have such a nice life,

Not near the ground, in the sky without strife…

Here I sit on my perch in the tree,

I have tried to fly but my paws did disagree,

Tried to soar like those squirrels with wings,

For a moment or so I have done so to a degree…

Up here I can see everything,

I wonder what it is like up in the sky,

I do swear I was born into the wrong body, no lie,

I should have been a bird with wings,

Instead I do just hunt same, I am sorry I can’t tell you why,

Must be a part of being a kitty, its inbred, I just cannot deny…

So while I am a kitten,

I will dream of being a bird,

Surely when I do get older,

Those dreams will no longer be heard,

But until that time I will not of my dreams give the cold shoulder…

Hmmmm... yes, I know you have addressed this delightfully wistful piece to that adorable pic, but one could easily read it as a human wish for flight and total freedom... and I am quite sure you could see that. (smile) This was lovely to read, Ed. katy xox.

I do swear I was born into the wrong body, no lie,
I should have been a bird with wings,

Maybe in your next life, my friend. In my next life, I, like, Tinka, want to be a cat; so be careful; we may both be stalking you.

Witty and thought provoking all at once. Don't we all dream of being something or someone else from time to time? Really like the picture, too.

An adorable pic and write. Seems like you and I are on the same time line. Hope you had a great time last night, I know I did!! It was overwhelming to say the least...I am getting addicted to this place. If it wasn't for a laptop, I would never fit it into my schedule but I am glad too. Thanks Ed!

P.S. I want to stay a kitten forever...
