Where once a home did stand…
The wave did take it away,
Leaving so little to see where it once lay,
Those that lived there did also end up in the bay,
Floating face down, the wave did them slay…
Note that the trees are left standing,
The pilings and the home built by man were left stranding,
Nature does build its trees so strong,
Man does think his technology can do him no wrong…
The power of Nature once again did to man present,
Allowing him to see he is nothing more than a peasant,
He can try of his life to lament, or to his god repent,
But to Nature he is nothing more than something to torment…

We humans become complacent, forgetful and worse, arrogant. Mother Nature will always find a way to put us in our place... she WILL be respected... and should be.
People tend to want to place blame for bad things... when it comes to nature, we are all in the 'same boat'... so we'd best learn to get along, eh? I agree with Eileen... we're not so tough! A great write! katy xox.
Great eye opener my friend!!
