Poem Artwork

Passed…

He did pass me by greatly on the fly,

His speed did shock me, so fast he did drive,

The broken lines on the road blurred to solid,

Was that a speed trap on the side he didn’t see?

He did miss the cop with the radar gun,

Telling his base this driver was on the run,

The car in a blur, the driver must be having some fun,

The police did give chase, “Whatcha’ll doin’ son?”

His answer quite clear, his wife in labor,

The police did give escort,

In front and in back like a two edged saber,

They made it in time; his wife felt relief,

The man had ready his cigars,

The officers did stay to see the good news…

She did have triplets; the man did faint,

He asked the officers to put him restraint,

His wife a real trooper and saint,

The man had but three complaints…

Okay and at first I thought they were after my mother-in-law as she was really a bad driver. Ouch three makes my own booty hurt but heck I could deal with it though.

Ed,

*nervous laughter* You're scaring me, Ed...LOL

That pic--reminds me of drives to Cleveland (Ohio) and seeing airplanes pass thisclose overhead...many times I'd have to duck...or the time that a wayward helicopter nearly chose dad's station wagon as it's landing pad...INCOMING!!!!!!!! LOL

And the write--too funny, I'm glad they're all healthy. :)

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :)

I imagine they could have rolled in another bed for the shocked husband. I know I would have needed one.

Love happy endings, and this truly sounds like one. Did you get a cigar? And was he speeding in his Explorer - those babies really can tear up the road!
