Moral of this story, "never dance with a dog on a short lease..."

Poem Artwork

Should have done a jig, but instead I zagged…

Twisted my back,

Pulled a muscle, no pain do I lack,

Heating pad and motrin the order of the day,

Still have to work, still of bills have to pay…

Tripped over the dogs leash,

Damn I knew it was there, sheesh,

But he went one way and I the other,

My suggestion would be not to dance with the dog,

Especially when he is attached to a short leash…

Seemed to know did he that I was in pain,

Jumped right on my back, with more pain I was insane,

Guess he was trying with his nose and ears to ascertain,

Where my pain was, what he could do to help,

But it was, at least for him, done so in vain,

For me I felt as if I had been with a knife in the back, slain…
