Dog Tired…by Rufuz

Where does it come from, this dog-tired?

Dogs I have known have never been fired,

Though they have been known as regards puppies to be sired,

And I have seen daddy and his car in the woods mired…

But not sure why people say they are dog-tired,

I may sleep a lot but it is because I have to stay awake all night,

To protect my daddy while he sleeps till he awakens in the light,

This subject sure has made me feel quite inspired…

So many things are given names of dogs,

Why are we the brunt of human complaints?

Why can it not be other animals, maybe like frogs?

“Boy am I FROG TIRED today…?”

That sounds more like its right,

Stop speaking of dogs in other than nice terms,

And one other statement before end here I do,

If people can be dog-tired, can I be people sleepy…what think do you…?
