Isn't the scent of a first rain just wonderful...?

Poem Artwork

Been a month or more since last rain,

No appreciable have fallen amounts,

Nothing for the weather guy to count,

But when it falls for the first time,

The scent is glorious, and I wish to enjoy the storm,

To the roof of the camper I just want to climb…

The scent comes directly from heaven,

It is a comforting smell, kinda like bread that is leaven,

Have liked storms like this since I was like seven,

Puts me in mind, it does, of manna from heaven…

Hard it does hit the roof,

Scared is my dog Ruf,

He sits next to me,

Nuzzles up to me with his nose,

No he may not smell like a rose,

But after his bath, he smells better than my dirty clothes…

Storm passed, still that wonderful scent does remain…

Lovely. The scent of rain is a wonderful thing, as can be the sound of the storm.

You have said it, Ed! There's something divine about the scent of rain after a long, dry spell. Well done and thank you. Love and peace to you,

Regis

I agree with you Ed...I have a perfume called Carolina Rain that smells like sweet rain to me. Nothing like laying still while the rain lulls me to sleep. Thanks for a soothing reminder.
