Poem Artwork

Home this eve I did to roam,

So many homes closed & dark till next season,

No one on the streets walking this way or that,

Still I do miss the solitude of the darkened beach,

Was for many years to live my reason…

Listening to the waves break on the shore,

No gull sounds as it is just about dark,

Looking from one end to the other,

The boardwalk empty, closed are every store….

No screaming kids, no drunken brawls of summer,

No ocean goers, the water way too cold,

Dressed in layers if they are out at all,

No breeze whispering through the trees…

Sometimes quiet is good, compared to the hustle and bustle of horns blowing in a traffic jam. I feel a kinship with this write. Thanks for sharing this.

Seaisle sounds very much as Seil isle on the west coast of Scotland. Amusing how we revelled in the drunken nights when younger and now we're older we deny the younger genration that same 'privilege'.
I miss the solitude of a lonely but nonetheless evocatively busy shore. Mouse scouts! Brrrrrrrrrrrrring out the bottle.

It's always wonderful to go Home, no matter what the season, or time of day.
