The beach was wonderful & calm was the sea,

We went there just to make sure & to see,

So many people walking and talking there,

Little did they know that beach has & will forever belong to me…

The sun bright with passing clouds,

Surprisingly no seagulls squawking loud,

The ocean quite cold, the air in the sixties,

I could remember my childhood playing on the beach with the pixies…

We sat on a bench,

Me and the wench,

Dreaming our own little dreams,

Remembering of our childhood memories,

It did of any emotional stress & strain, quench…

Go there often and walk the edge. I would if I could.

Nothing dilutes stress like the sea. I spent my childhood on the beach and I can remember, even then, that nothing made me fell more at peace than watching the sunrise and sunsets sitting on the sand. Our beach house had wide window seats in the big bay windows. I would fall asleep there hearing the waves breaking on the shore. What a peaceful sleep it was. I miss that...when I win the lottery, I am going to buy a beach house or condo somewhere...perhaps on Maui, where life is gentle and easy, the air fresh, warm and clean and the sand and sea always delightful. I'll keep you posted so I can send you and Renee a ticket to visit. ;)
Take care,
Sherry

we have no shores here but I feel the same way about a walk in the woods by a running stream

Ah memories. Your poem is beautiful. I remember burning my tiny feet before I reached the wet sand. It was hot on our beach. Good write.

Such a wonderful reminder that despite all the chaos in the world, beauty and peace are not only possible but still present and available.

Beaches everywhere hold memories for all who've passed by. I'm sure if your beach could talk we'd all be listening.
Males me think about Tybee Island...my old hang out.
