?...Nature...?

Poem Artwork

From a distance,

Light seen,

There I’ve been,

A place to enjoy the scene…

Ocean & beach,

Sometimes out of reach,

The light of the shore,

Is what God does preach…

How many miles nautical,

Can be seen this light,

Its beam searches for those in plight,

Back to the shore does it for them to invite…

A fine tribute to the lighthouse, Ed. They are a dying breed here I'm afraid; being replaced by some hightech gismo or other. Thank you. Love and peace,

Regis

The waters of the Clyde used to glisten in response to the powerful beam of these lights. Sadly no more, thanks to computers and sophisticated radar. Cloch Lighthouse, Gourock still looks white from a distance, but when you draw near, the paint is flaking and damp is rising to claim its backbone. Very sad. I would like to think that it has been rescued.

Dai

You really had some fever there, Bro. That beacon you saw was me with a flashlight, outside your motor home, shining it through your window. I brought some of Grandma's soothing chicken soup for you, but you wouldn't let me in. Oh, well... Hope you now feel much better.

As an old sailor I can relate to the light beyond the horizon after a three days storm was screaming at you with typhoon force that you were not going to make it.
Then the light...shore!!! and the calm which came with it.
Like a welcome flicker in one of God's eye.
Great writing.
