I miss my wintertime beach...

Poem Artwork

I miss the beach in winter’s, solitude,

When no one but me feels the spray off the sea,

It makes me feel much more subdued,

It relieves my winter’s dark mood…

No summer throngs to dirty my beach,

No noisy brats to of my ocean leech,

Taking away the beauty of waves each,

The gulls do fly quite high,

All one hears is their screaming screech…

They don’t of the shore care,

They leave their trash & such there,

They have no love for her, as do I,

They treat her callously,

I cannot for the life of me understand why…?

I share your passion for the sea, Ed! However, I'd much prefer a late fall sojourn by the ocean....no one around, the air is cool but not biting, and it's just me and the seagulls!

Winter's solitude as you describe it on that beach sounds divine!

Probably because they treat their own lives callously, Ed.

People are Oinks, indeed, and there is now far more in our oceans than seaweed Plastic trash and sewage, toxic chemicals and spilled oil It's been awhile since those good old days, when Ma Ocean was 'unspoiled'

People are oinks. Still, flip flops and snow drifts are a bad mix. Patrick
