I don't live in that part of the country (thank goodness), but from I've heard from family and friends, it was far from nothing. Even my friend in New Jersey said it was 'something', you must have a magic barrier around you!

At least for you, and I'm glad for that. But understand that northern New Jersey is now experiencing record flooding and that it is hurting a lot of people. If the storm had been a category 4 or 5 you would have felt it. Like others have said, it is better to hype up the storm and save people's lives, than to downplay the danger when the unpredictability of a hurricane or tropical storm can kill.

I believe that the Coordination between all the Governors, Mayors, FEMA et cetera
wildly & smartly EXCEEDED the chaos of Katrina ...

ergo something was LEARNED! the Evacuations may well have saved THOUSANDS of lives? time will tell ...

Costs of losses will still be in the BILLIONS $ ... A Niece, my Daughter, a Sister-in-law all lost several Hundreds in SPOILED FOOD because of Power Outages ...

A Business owner friend has had no power . his establishment since Sat nite . 11pm ... not allowed by law to serve customers in any Bar Restaurant - still no power as of 8 pm tonite - he is HURTING!

Multiply These by ALL the businesses involved up & down the entire Coast -
Hotels, motels, dining, vacationing, rentals, et cetera ...

Wait til the MEDIA releases all these figures, and see what our Economy does!

You should be thanking your lucky stars. Many others were not as fortunate, including the families of those who lost their lives, those who lost their homes, and all of the pets that we evidently still so very cruelly leave behind in these disasters to fend for themselves. (The abandoned dog you sent me an e-mail about was by far, not the only one.)

Glad it came and bid you adieu, as i wasnt really looking forward to seeing the country get hammered again, for everyone's sakes. THNK G-D

Glad you weren't hit hard, Ed. But - to all - don't EVER understimate the power of a hurricane (or tornado), and you can't really predict the course one will take...so better safe than sorry, methinks!

Yesssss, I'm glad it's gone now, and I'm so glad you're safe. Our son is in Manhattan, New York, so that got us worried about him too for all this time. I'm so glad we're all okay.
