Blanketed by Natures anger…

Poem Artwork

From the northwest she came,

Something different but the same,

She rolled in on us with winds off the open plain,

We were about to experience a whole new ball game…

Heavy in texture,

Power lines she took out first,

This storm was not going to allow us pleasure,

She was here to wreak havoc on us unsuspecting humans,

She did not care for the death & destruction she caused,

This was payback for what we’ve done to her planet…

No movement as the people huddled in their homes,

No ability was there for people to for days roam,

Food stuffs ran out, there was no heat,

Her idea was to kill off man & his machines,

This was not to be an easy, even for her, feat…

Her trees fell from the weight,

But she didn’t care, not one iota,

She wrought this destruction into the deep south,

But the north got the biggest hit,

Blowing great winds from her wide open mouth…

This to shall pass,

Some did die; some did last,

The future was cast,

Nature would rule, her anger unsurpassed…

Actually some might call snow pack a blessing. Water for spring and summer you know, so long as you didn't freeze yer butt off. Patrick

For a guy who claims he doesn't write poetry, this is a tour de force! I think it was the shock of the storm that stirred you to write so well. All I can say is, keep up the good work.

The future was cast,
Nature would rule, her anger unsurpassed…

and yet some still deny the evidence of their own eyes and experience which blasts this writing all over the walls... :((((((( xx

Woooah. Nature at the height of revenge. Yep, yep, we are to blame for much of what occurs, but we (in all our arrogance) refuse to assume responsibility. Hopefully, our generation and those to come will become more aware and take actions to thwart this devestation. Maybe...just maybe.

Interesting notion Ed ... payback. Nature as a vindictive force getting even with humanity. We got drenched last night here in SoCal. An inch of rain fell in a few hours. Not so bad, though, compared to other areas of our planet. At least there will be some snow in the mountains on friday when Michele and me go up to hike. Happy TGing... richard

Ma Nature seems to be getting angrier and angrier these days - just read a new scientific report predicting many snow piling blizzards this winter (the Midwest is supposedly gonna get better than 60 inches of snow), and more horrific droughts, wildfires, hurricanes, mudslides, and earthquakes, on the way next spring.

Ma sure seems to be ticked off lately, and it's probably at we humans, who keep on multiplying and destroying her planet.

PS: Please send next year's Christmas gifts for me, Mean Tall Woman, and all our pets real early next year - just in case Ma decides to take us all out at once, on 12-21-12. Thanks.
