Poem Artwork

IT came out of the north & west,

IT folded over us with calm & a dignified demeanor,

IT drew us in to its folds,

IT used a guile unbeknownst to us,

IT took us by complete surprise…

IT was alive, a malignant growth upon Nature,

A maliciousness born of violent power,

ITs tendrils reaching far and wide beyond its core,

IT came from beyond man’s reach & time,

No forecaster could have predicted it,

IT lived within itself, it could not die…

The sky went from blue to black,

The temperatures dropped,

IT beguiled us with a light dusting of snowflakes,

Then it tore forth with all its menacing might…,

The wind like teeth, slashing at bodies,

Snow, more than ever was seen,

IT blew in and inundated man’s world,

No snow plow could remove it,

No shovel could lift it…

IT stopped man’s world,

His power paled in comparison,

He was but a pawn in its grasp,

Would it ever move on or would it drown man

For now, man was on its menu,

Man did that day know a devoured death…

IT sounds like a bITch.
Maybe you should move down south where we only have occasional hurricanes and tornados.

Ooooooooo... gives me the chills, Edbear, this is so well-delivered. Obviously a nip or two of brandy is called for. Tuck up and sleep tight... keeping an eye on the bed-bugs, of course! Stay safe and warm this Christmastime, Kate xx

Get under your bed and hide. IT was just here, and we asked IT to spare us and to head your way. Have a Blessed Doomsday!

Well done Ed. I agree with Paul. We are floating around in this ball full of life called the earth and no, we cannot control the weather. It is uncontrollable. The only thing we have learned is it will change and no place is exempt from the perfect storm.

Dang dude ... 'IT' moved me. I'm gonna go out right now and buy another cord of firewood and diesel for our emergency generator. A good write. Kinda creepy though ...

Been nice knowing you, Ed, if they find your body maybe they'll let the scientists pick over your brain. You know, for the greater good of mankind.
