Wolves are being shot,
As are deer & bears,
I guess it can be said, so many bullets, so little time,
The NRA and hunters do after shooting, stuff & display their wares…
Are trees the next to be hunted more,
Cut down they are now in infinite numbers,
Do we have infinite numbers of them left to cut,
They used to be all over the country,
Now nowhere can we say they are in glut…
There are far too many trees being cut down throughout the world at this time and unless things change, Earthians will soon face what you state at the end of your poem, Ed. Love and peace to you,
When I came out to Levittown many years ago there was a tree outside most houses on my block. Now there is only one still standing. I have planted two in my front yard and three in my back yard. Many flowering bushes in between.
