A modicum of humor

Poem Artwork

A drug dealer I am not,

Not so stupid to be selling pot,

Don’t want to in jail be left to rot,

I will sleep, thank you, in my own cot…

I also don’t sell any cocaine,

Rather see it melt away in the rain,

To some it is for them a bane,

To others it may cover up their pain…

Used to when younger do acid,

Made me hot, quite arid,

Sold by the lid,

Had to with much money, make a high bid.

Yes, a poetic confession of a user (but not a dealer).

After I kicked nicotine at seven, I took charge of my body and decided that stimulants were not something a healthy body needed for nourishment. My mind was sound, so I didn't need mental medication either. So, I never drank beer like all my friends and family did. I did concede to liquor after 18, mixed because it tasted good and made me feel mellow for parties.

But, as I watched young men and women get attracted to and addicted to expensive drugs of the variety we all know, all I could think of was what a waste of youthful potential and cash that could be saved and invested in an education like I did, a business, or even a home. Instead, I saw many wasted lives hooked on this or that, including cults that claim to help people kick this or that, but didn't.

As I turned 21, I was in the hospital and on morphine to alleviate pain for 20 days. I didn't sleep at all for over 10 days. Never wanted to be like that again and haven’t.

I would be referred to as a Montuna MT (Used, as in used up) Dealer. This is eloquent in a straight-forward way.

I didn't think I'd ever see pot become legal, but it's happening, and that's a good thing. It's time to take the criminal element out of reefer. Smoke on!

Ohio is growing weed in special areas as the state is getting ready to go legal. I would work in a dispensary. That would be legal. The rest I leave for the "heavy hitters". Rock on, Ed!

Love ya!

The Wholly Book of Genesis by Jay Dubya

The Wholly Book of Genesis is a humorous satire on the first book of the Old Testament where the Story of Creation, the building of Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are thoroughly spoofed and broadsided.
