…or the lack thereof…

We’ve learned to live with it,

       But not without it.

Flip a switch, turn a key, push a button,

       Bingo, there it is without thought.

Lighting the way home, or brightening the sky,

        Known of since the Revolution.

T.V., radio’s, air-conditioners, toasters, microwaves,

        All work because of it.

But then comes the time without it,

        Oh my goodness, what to do now?

Candles, flashlights, backyard fires,

          Have we regressed to the time prior to it?

Can we learn to live without it?

         I think not, as far as I am concerned.

I miss my cable, my music, my fan to keep cool with,

         Guess I am just as addicted to it, as to food & drink.

Have you ever tried to live without it or have it forced upon you?

         As did millions after the hurricane that ravaged the east coast.

You all know what I speak of…
