WOLF GATE
"In Search of the Wild Self”
(Rufuz wanted something written about his wild brethren)
Wild though they are,
They seem never to care,
Regards human intrusion,
Into their habitat, as long as it is not their lair.
Maybe they feel that we all must get along,
So during their search for self,
They treat humans like that of a birdsong,
Allowing their passage,
Ever wary of them.
Wolves are solitary beings,
Although they can be found in packs,
They rarely attack their human brethren.
Yes, we are related,
Mans viciousness is well known,
As is that of a wolf protecting it’s own.
They are animals after all,
They have what some might say,
Is a certain reverence,
And then is their call,
That of the wild beast inside,
To bring together all of their family,
To retreat to the hills,
So from the humans with guns they may hide.
Solitude and strife create strong & weak,
The strong live,
And the weak become meat to nourish,
Having found in the end their personal niche.
So much can be said regards the wolf,
But Rufuz says this poem is over with,
I for one, may be back to write more someday…
(ed & rufuz)
