cinquain: a five stanza verse with syllable count - 2 4 6 8 2

It is frustrating to see more and more of concrete everywhere in the name of development. The level of pollution is so high in the Indian capital of Delhi that the CM had to order to stop constructions at the start of this winter!

Poem Artwork

Money plant

Green leaves

of money plant gleamed

Looked up, silently  said,

“I am happy to be cared for,

Thank you"

 Now  see

 How fresh I look!

No wilted feel I get!

I   shine with the bright sun each day

Thank you

 Rose flower

Feel me

But touch me not

See my glowing color

Call me  by any other  name?

No way!

River

I flow

Don’t burden me

Gurgling, bouncing, playing

Drink of me down stream, clear, I go

Let me!

Forest

Forest

 White frosted  trees

Welcome  the fading year

November is  now here to chill

Enjoy

Earth

Planet

Live  happily

Take care, be safe, stay fit

Conservation  the   only way

To be

A very timely reminder that illustrates the freshness, beauty and
healing consciousness of Nature as against encroaching concrete structures…
I hope we heed the warning…for the sake of all the children of the Earth…

A beautiful poem Roseline that reminds us of the fragility of our fragile planet…

Love, Diana…🍃

So sorry to hear that progress in Delhi is so contrary to the need for green. They have paved over so much of Houston that we are a hot island in the hot sun. We still pollute with natural gas, but it isn't as obvious.

Your poem deserves wider readership because it simply points out that nature knows best.

I do applaud India for trying to increase habitat, and all the greenery that is involved for the tiger and wild elephant so they will forever continue and maybe bring back, the lion.
