Poem Artwork

Hitch your wagon on to a Star "

Ralph Waldo Emerson

..........................................................................

I'll take your precious hand in mine

as we walk through our enchanted forest

just you and I together

without a care in the world

under the greenwood canopy

fabolous framework of awe

we will ramble in sheer joy

with the soft moss underfoot

knowing our magnetic love

is custom made for us

I'll show you all the wonders

of mother nature's awesome design

deep purple Japanese maples

and fiery red azaleas dazzle

multi colored delphiniums flourish

and yellow gladioli bloom

where the tree creeper lives

and the green woodpecker drums

deep down in the hidden dell

where I promised you

I'll forever be yours

and kissed your tender lips

and caressed your lovely hair

in this paradise of florid flower

where the sun dapples the leaves

and shards of light diffuse

on the babbling brook,

as it follows its zig zag course

within this magical kingdom

and the rabbit warrens

run through the golden bough

we will always be happy here

in this heaven we treasure

where the chiff chaffs warble

and the roe deer run free

and deep in the velvet night

the twinkling elves and faeries appear

in a beautiful menagerie

under the magical milkwood

I'll whisper your name

and you will smile with ease

and love will be content

as two hearts relish in bliss

Stunning work and your imagery is flawless here -- I could see everything, I could even smell the forest! (If I could make a suggestion, my friend ... read the poem aloud. You will find a few things you should fix, syntax and spelling).
Again, a stunning poem.
Hugs,
CJ

Dear Peter,

In my humble opinion, there is a fine line between fantasy and reality. It's a threshold that we can cross, if we have the courage to follow our dreams. I believe this is what Emerson may have been referring to in the above excellent quote. I applaud your visions and I think that Emerson would as well.

Love, Joy & Peace,
Joseph

I couldn't help but tag along. . .and how glad I am I did!
To dance and skip through a magical kingdom with you as guide and narrator {& showman:)) is a rare and precious treat. . .even if your heart does belong to the beauty by your side. Thank you for the dazzling color, the fascinating critturs, and. . .all the above, and so much more! Gratefully, 'Pea' <3

Oh to be Titania and Oberon and for it to be forever A Midsummer Night... I just love this, Peter. Some people feel romantic on the open hills... some love the intimacies of woodlands where things are allowed to be secret. As for me, I love it all, but, being a Hardy girl, have to say that Under The Milkwood Tree does it for me!!... especially if it's Green!! But, if with Dylan Thomas, then spose the valleys of Wales will have to do! Delightful poem, thank you. Kate xx :))

Truly an enchanting place and an equally enchanting read. Is there such a place where everything is perfect...if so, I want to go there...but only as long as it's the forest of no return. Most definitely! Sigh...deep breath...sigh again legatoooo...
Packing my bag, but in this enchanted world, all you need is love.

Love!

Esteemed visionary ...

Such peace and tranquility drips from this pen. A mesmerizing ability to transport the reader to another place and, as I have said before, make one feel as if you are there with the writer.

It is most important that our visions are experienced with another. Life, I believe, must be a shared experience in order for it to be complete. Long live the union between a man and a woman.

Sir Peter ... you word paintings are as an elixir to the soul.

In fraternity and poetic vision ...
