Strange Weather

The earth is somehow greener this year
Now that spring has peaked its season
The grass, trees, shrub, flowers and plants
I wonder if God has a particular reason.

Grasses grow greener with ripe new blades
Peeking thickly from out of the ground
While dollops of yellow paint the green grass
Where sunlight falls gently without a sound

The sun seems somehow at war with the cold
Wintery-cold nights and scorching hot days
The heater at night and the air-conditioner by day
With huge electric bills we all have to pay.

Is there a lesson in all of this strange weather?
Something we’ve overlooked in our plight to be and do without constraint
We know that things age with time and use
Have our actions left this old world fighting back with
I can’t?

Your questions are certainly worth a pause or more for thought, Jeanette. Things have changed around here for sure (in the weather department). Thank you. Love and best wishes,

Regis

Beautiful posting Jeanette.
Perhaps it is just "Strange Weather" so that we may all have something in common, something to share.

Lovely graphic also along with your vivid words to share.
Blessings and take care,
Gwendolyn

Our weather patterns are changing . I think its due to global warming. The poem captures many acpects of the weather. We've finally gotten some much needed rain and now have green grass too.....M

This poem captures the last few years of weather perfectly. The last couple of years, in my town, there have been floods. Folks who have lived their whole lives here claim they've never seen that happen before. A bit scary, if you ask me. Especially with the world-wide aspect in mind - all the fires, floods, and severe storms. We're not supposed to go out of this world with floods again, though, right? lol. Great work, Jeanette!

Perhaps mother nature is finally taking a stand after all the abuse she has had to endure....

Be always safe,

Yes, Jeanette, this poem should make us all think about what is happening with our Mother Earth. We are only seeing the tip of the iceberg...Unfortunately.
Much peace, love, and light,

I fear the dire effects of our human actions on Mother Nature have only just begun. We have surely not treated Her very well.
