A living tapestry.......

        All is quiet, mother earth is asleep,
    a gentle calming breeze floats overhead.
     Kitties are snuggled, sleeping soundly,
        all three together sharing one bed.

     Birds on their perch next to each other,
   patiently wait for the first morning light.
  Time to wake up, make haste, get dressed,
        pour the coffee and inhale the sight.

          God has endowed us with never
                         ending beauty,
         riches of mountains, lakes, rivers
                           and streams.
        Strong yet fragile, larger than life,
 a wondrous work of art, so detailed it seems.

        Strolling along paths made long ago,
 ground underfoot crackles from fallen leaves.
     Sunshine peeks through to light the way,
        a living tapestry that nature weaves.

         Legs getting tired, backpack heavy,
        searching around for a place to rest.
      Natural clearing makes a perfect spot,
      to stop and observe nature at her best.

   All of God's creatures are scurrying about,
        searching for food, building nests
                          if they could.
     Newborn birds chirping high in the trees,
       adult birds scavenging as they should.

          Time is passing, though I would
                         rather remain,
    where one can think, imagine and dream.
      Perhaps another day when all is quiet,
    another chance to relax, enjoy, be serene.
