Let me show you
A place
Before it is gone:
A place where grass
Can grow as high as
Our waists,
Where bison can be seen
For miles and miles,
Where men and women
Have lived in peace
With the land
For millennia.
Take my hand and
Come with me
As I take you where
The bluest sky meets
The bluest flower,
Where prairie dogs scamper,
Ever vigilant against
The hawk and the owl,
And where breezes blow
Incessantly.
Let me take you to
My special place,
A calm, clear oasis
In the midst of
The vastness,
An unexpected pool where
We can share the wonders
That abound;
Where we can truly be
Alone.
