Nightbirds wing silently on invisible currents on their neverending quest for a meal - Far away sirens announce that not all sleep in peace and dogs create their own Doppler effect - A sudden thumping of loud music shatters the air and then the night pulses back to silence - A rat bares its teeth at the approach of death which comes with deadly accuracy on cat paws - Raccoons sway Their bellies against the ground having had A buffet of crawfish from Chigger Creek - The trees sigh In contentment as the breeze rocks them to sleep with a lullaby as old as time - I lay on my back and wish I could stay forever underneath the stars in the midnight sky.
This is so serene and so peaceful; and there is nobody I'd rather watch the stars (or the Northern Lights) with than you! Beautiful write; very well done, Karla! BRAVA!

You can stay forever in that position, but unfortunately the starry sky will change daily...even one night out there, with no storms to speak of, is a life changing reason to live...Ed
