morning yawns awake; another day; another soldier dies; who gives a damn? there are other news stories to analyze; terrorist attacks; price of fuel; disasters; idols to watch; rise in crime; reality's cruel; soldiers die; now pass the scotch; the illegals invading; the growing mistrust; we've lost sight of what is important, you see; i've my own battles to fight. morning yawns awake; another day; another soldier dies; war's hell; tell that to the mothers with tears streaming from their eyes.

We have done our best to desensitize ourselves from truth eversince this damn war began, leaving our own warriors out there alone, just because we are too blatantly selfish. When all is said and done...there really is no other problem we have, as important as making sure those guys and gals know we care, and appreciate their sacrifices.

There should be no wars, no killings, no abuse, no hatred, no back stabbing politics. Politicians make wars, and then tell us it is justified, for one reason or another, so they can send or young people to die in a foreign land, that did no wrong to them. My heart goes out to the families that are mourning their dead young soldiers, sent to fight something they really had no idea about. How many women and men have we lost to wars? Too many.
Another Soldier Dies is a tragic exercise in sadness and lamenting. These young soldiers will never again mow the lawn, hang out with their friends, watch a sports event, or have a family, because the government decreed they should die, and if they should come back alive, they are scarred for life of the trauma that will haunt them the rest of their lives.
Thanx Karla, but this did make me sad, angry and just down with tears for the inexcusable loss of life, because two governments could not agree whether it tastes great or is less filling. This is the abusrdity of war.
May the Lord Jesus bless all those called to war, for no other reason than politics. May the Lord Jesus bless the souls of the fallen, for they had no real say in where they went or who they had to kill in order to survive, only to come home in caskets, to the sad mourning to their family and friends. May the Lord Jesus please put an end to all wars for all time, because there is no real reason why the people of the earth cannot get along. May the Lord Jesus bless all of the families that have been stricken with grief, because their sons and daughters were killed in a foreign land they were told to go to. Amen.

So true and so much of a daily reality, even here in canada where we Have not seen any number of casualties of our own troops since the WW II as the tally of Canuck soldiers rises the sympathy seems to decrease.

Men and women are dying everywhere now and its not just the one's that are wearing the uniform and its not just one country, it is the whole world in different ways. What is war good for? As the song says absolutely nothing! I pray for peace and rise my glass to those that do their best.
Excellent Karla! I agree with all the others especially Broome and Peter! We need to pray more for the Lord to direct our president, Rumsfeld and all who plan are our strategy. We also should say daily prayers for all the military. We should all "put our prayers where our mouth is", to use an old adage...Thank you
I give a Damn! I give a God Damn! Our soldiers are in Iraq, because their Commander-in-Chief, our duly elected President, sent them over there to fight the bastards who had taken over a country to give support to the world movement futhering their brand of Islam. Oil, and all the popular issues are in the mix, but the US is trying to stem the tide of terrorism which produced 9-11. All the Damn liveral news media, notwithstanding, our soldiers are there to help establish a new Government in Iraq, one that, we hope, will stay democratic long enough to help us hold Iran off from becoming a necular power.
Yes, I give a Damn, but,I've seen service men die for all of my decades, and it will continue as long as the US is policemen to the whole world. If not the US, if not our soldiers, whose?

Brave and courageous sacrifices have to be made by our soldiers in the face of an evil and impassive foe that seeks to enslave us all under their despotic rule, and impose their heathen beliefs on us..

Pretty damn sad when reality ignores the sacrifices made by our brave men and women who fight for our freedom. You capture it brutally and painfully! A powerfully moving write; very well penned! BRAVA!

This is a heart felt verse for our soldiers. Here in Macon we're welcoming the Mighty 48th back from Iraq. They had too neumerous of losses. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the others' as well as their families too.
