For Johnny, a new friend at hardcoreweather.com; he expeirenced the Northridge quake of '89 and asked me to write a poem about it. Even though I wasn't there, I bet it would feel like this ...

And, BTW, this is my 1,900 poem. :)

Poem Artwork

Heavy, the thunder
vibrating under my feet.
Unstable, the ground,
no longer solid comfort.
Fragile, the walls of
my home that have become glass.
Pieces of debris
I can fit in my pocket --
the earthquake did this.

Yes. I've never experienced a serious earthquake but I believe you have expressed it the way it would be, Karla. Thank you. Love and peace,

This I imagine to be an ugly quake, Karla. With just a few words you have described the fear and devastation. Well done!

I've never experienced a large earthquake either, Karla, but your words sure do describe what I think it would be like! Very nice poem! I'm sure Johnny will be pleased.

Karla, as you have said, this is a poem about an earthquake and perhaps I think too much but as I read this poem I thought what a great metaphor it would be for a life in turmoil. But, like I said, I think too much.

Another reach of mother nature and all of her wonders. Enjoyed this! Experienced the Landers and the Northridge earthquakes and they are not fun. Enjoyed this much.
