We, as students, are learning from a deadly curriculum ... it's time to change the lesson plans.
... This is what happens when people speak with the language of rifles: bullets of hatred slam into chests, ripping away future peace; eyes close against the gathering darkness of chaos, n'er to teach; war becomes the norm; neither side can claim victory -- only death. This is what happens when people speak with the language of rifles.
Wow! A very powerful write dear friend that speaks to the heart! Every person around the globe should read this very powerful and wise write! Great timing, great message!

Karla, this is written in a voice that's sad and unaccepting of the currents situations. You've done a marvelous job on this writing Karla...I believe it is one of your very best!
"Bullets of hatred" are like the "Language of Rifles" but behind each is a person. It seems that a breakdown in moral fortitude in a society paves the way for anger, hate, and disension that can easly turn deadly. Thus, rifles aren't being made to kill, people are.
Your thoughtful poem definitely characterizes that point.
Aberjhani has said it so much better than I could, Karla. If there could only be a way to find a civil peace among men and beliefs. I like the way you plant your seeds.
Love, Taylor
Karla - i like the line idea of 'when people speak with the language of rifles' - here you illustrate the destructive firepower - Your poem warns against a violence, and that you feel the curriculum is deadly in some way? promoting violence? - i want to know more about that - perhaps you will expand on this idea... Anyhow - a poem that made me think and want to know more - thank you Karla, Nicky x:o)
LANGUAGE OF RIFLES: Functions simultaneously as brilliant poetry and as a powerful editorial. The question is what will we do with the insight you have shared so beautifully? Much gratitude,
Superb poem with powerful emotions ringing true! Karla,
this country need not just new leaders, but people who will hold them to their promises, which is something we have forgotten how to do.
Keep writing!
This is when we need to put discipline and prayer back in the homes and schools. Scary scenario our nation is facing today; God help us all! A powerful, hardhitting slice of reality that calls for action! Very well penned; brava!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin, Karen Lynn. :(

But are we intelligent enough to learn a new language - before it's too late?
Your thoughtful poem definitely characterizes that point.
"Language of Rifles" said it with the VOICE of wisdom and words of sublime VERB: LIFE!
In admiration,

Very well said, raw, to the point and damn the torpedoes!!!
