Today's strong thunderstorms were the inspiration behind this poem. :)

Poem Artwork

The sky, fur side out;
clouds puffed up in anger; no
gentle kitten, this:

this is Nature at
its worst:  teeth bared, it prepares
to pounce, toying with

its prey.  It hisses
a warning, then attacks:  a
tiger on the hunt.

Karla, this picture (and the photography of all your storm pictures) are some truly great shots, as is your poetry which describes each scene.

I visited Texas years ago, but I think you've convinced me that it's not a place I want to return to. (I shoud talk--Florida will be having their share of the storms in the near future.)

Perfectly captured! Don't you wish Nature would build a cage for
it and hire guards to keep it there? Unfortunately, many of her
fits appear to be necessary. In the long run, anyway. Mother N. obviously subscribes to the kill'r'cure school of medicine.
Love the power you manage to pack in your poems without wasting
words. Ironical, but THE STORMSPINNER RULES !! ;) Pea xOxOxO...X!

You have captured the storm both by eye and by your words. Looks like quite a scary storm. I hope the storm has passed and that there was no repercussions from it's violent powers.

~hugs~

Great metaphor, it can sure seem like a tiger or lion at times can't it. Just as a big cat seems so gentle and soft laying at rest and so vicious when bringing down its prey with nothing but claw and tooth.

WOWZERS KARLA ...
This is quite brilliant and tasteful; I believe one of your best conceptual poems ever. You should put together three or four of your best and send them into Poetry Life and Times. And I agree with Sugar Chum below; you're growing and I get to watch and read it. Yeah Baby! Blessings ...

Beautifully captured Karla both poem and pic. You are getting very professional. Ever think of sending to magazines that deal with weather? Nothing ventured nothing gained!;-)
