A dream of mine is to pet a cheetah. Of the big cats, they are my favorite. Their tear lined face makes them look so sad ...

Only about 10,000 cheetahs exist in the wild.

Poem Artwork

... to feel its rumbling power;
to feel muscles primed for speed;
to kiss its tear marked face, to
let it know that someone cares -
cheetah, wish I could do more.

Kissing Cheetah's should be an easily accomplished task for a famous weather girl. Just ask at the zoo. Shoot, Tinka kisses elephants.

These are fine and worthy sentiments, Karla. So many of these and other species are on the brink of disaster. Thank you. Love and best wishes to you,

Good write Karla. But ya just can't trust those 'darn' cats. They'll turn on ya in a heartbeat; maybe your last. That's why God gave man the dog. Ever think about the name 'dog?' Dog spelled backwards is God. Hmmmmmm; food for thought. The most loyal and dedicated domesticated animal on the planet. No matter what you do to a dog, once they have accepted you, they are loving, loyal and will always forgive you. Sounds just like the Man in the sky, doesn't it? GOD and DOG ~~~~ yep, makes sense to me. Give me a dog's face to plant a kiss on any old day. About as close as we'll get in this life to kissing the face of God. And I'm not deserving of their love either. But I'll gladly take it. God bless you my friend and stay well. Your friend with three loving dogs in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

LOL at Paul Berube below :)

O, to pet a cheetah, hear its rumbling purr, to kiss its sweet little tear-streaked face....o, this is a dream of mine as well. They are so beautiful and look so sad! We must do all we can to ensuer their survival; otherwise, people of the future will not get to enjoy the amazing speeds that this big cat is known for. A world without cheetahs...that would be a sad world, indeed. Yes. Very well penned; brava!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin, Karen Lynn. :(

Beautiful picture of acinonyx jubatus!

Karla,

Be careful how you approach one or kissing a tear would be the last things you do. Have you been listening to the news lately about the tiger? Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.
