... the streets are ghosts, haunted memories
of Last Time lingering. Nothing moves
except rain lashing sideways on the
wind, and reporters. Always them, bent
on capturing the storm. How bad will
it get? Hopefully, not a repeat.
Here ...
... will we, who are far enough inland,
feel the effects? Depends on the track:
Last Time, all we got were clouds. Time will
tell. If it meanders further north
than expected, we could have heavy
rain, maybe severe weather. Pray not ...
The first stanza is superb and really sets the stage... I loved the alliteration in last time lingering!

We can only hope that we don't get anything severe out of what's left of Gustav; I am praying hard for our area, too! We do need the rain; just not all at once, and definitely not the svr wx! Very well penned; brava! Love the piccy!

Rain wouldn't be such a bad thing down your way, its not like you couldn't use it...stay safe...we, in the NJ area are looking at a week in the 90s with bright sunshine and I am DEFINITELY going to the beach now that the brats are gone and maybe so is the medical waste...they have reopened the beaches, but I would prefer not having to pay for a tetanus shot...Ed & Rufuz
