Back: modem working. For now, anyway. =]

The storms of Thursday evening inspired these lines.

Image and video (c) 2009, Karla Dorman

Poem Artwork

                                     let there be light[ning]

clouds blossomed in the
late afternoon heat,
lilac against the
tangerine hued sun.

                                          and God said, 'let there
                                          be light[ning],' and it
                                          was so:  a storm of
                                          amazing beauty.

                                                                                  evening, electric;
                                                                                  each flash attended
                                                                                  by roll of thunder
                                                                                  that entertained awe.  =]

Beautiful imagery! I love watching storms, but not being out in lightning. (I got "shocked" a couple of times).

Karla, living in Southern California we seldom get storms of such magnitude that lightening takes center stage but even so, every once in a while a storm will come to us with lightening searching the black sky and so many of us look and wonder at this show of God. Thank you for putting it into words.

WoW! Karla, you have come a long way since I was here when you can make this statement, "a storm of / amazing beauty." I remember when you would have been shaking in your boots. You writing about the weather has caused you to not be as fearful of them as you used to it seems.
