from a miletary brat..this is a sad fact that we live with evry day i almost lost my dad in afganistan and a frend that is a bruther to me. may we hope to have as much compashon as you have.
You're so right in your poem "Once a Marine". I know just such a person and he paid the "near" ultimate price as he struggles every day just to make it through the day with his painful disability.
From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, we fight our country's battles in the air on land and sea.
First to fight for right and freedom and to keep our honor clean;
we are proud to bear the title of United States Marines.
Again, it doesn't take 500 words to say what is to be said. Very well written and only goes to prove, where you're concerned, once a poet always a poet.

Thought you were in the Air Force...? Better to say, once a military person,always a military person...met a guy the other day at Pep boys that served in WW2, Korea AND Vietnam and retired after 30 some years, I think he said...ed
