'What the camera didn't capture, my grateful eyes did --- ' Image © 2012, Karla Dorman

His timing and mine a little off: eight seconds, the shutter was open as I tried to capture His signature in the skies. He'd wait until it closed and then would sign His name with a flourish and I could do nothing but wait --- not complaining. What a display of His power. It just kept on, one flash after another --- the whole southern horizon lit up in a show I won't soon forget. What the camera didn't capture, my grateful eyes did --- thank God for digital and the memories of nighttime lightning.

When “he” does it on Jupiter, the flash lasts for months and can be easily photographed if the extreme gravity does not bend the light waves too much.
